  • GUITAR INSTRUCTOR
An experienced, enthusiastic guitar teacher available for lessons with all age ranges and skill levels. Nicholas was professionally taught music from a  young age as a trumpet player and at the age of 16 picked up the guitar. He works with his students to ensure that they have a strong foundation of      key guitar fundamentals and music theory concepts. He focuses on ways to play creatively. As a songwriter, he teaches his methods of making new         music which gives the student a new way of expressing his/herself. Rhythm is also very important. He and his students learn songs of his/her                 choosing to perfect rhythm as well as many other essential techniques. He also teaches the art of jamming (improvising with other musicians).
Each student is given a personal lesson plan which they can review on his/her own time.
  • EVENT PERFORMER
GrooveTooth is currently a one man, one guitar act. Singer-songwriter Nik Kemmer grew up in Kensington, MD, just north of DC. He has spent much of his time pursuing music in the nation's capitol, pines of the south, great north plains, Rocky Mountains, and has landed in the Pacific Northwest. His original material brushes up on a few styles but mainly leans toward indie-folk. His influences include Tallest Man on Earth, Fleet Foxes, David Byrne, the Wailers, George Clinton, and Bob Dylan. Nik also enjoys playing cover songs from many different genres and time periods.
  • SINGER-SONGWRITER
Nik has been writing music for about six years. He recently released his first album titled, "A Shade Under Green." It is an acoustic release of
ten tracks. Seven of which have lyrics and three are instrumentals. The style of this album ranges through folk, funk, acapella, Spanish classical, space rock, and introduces a genre which Nik has been calling DreamWave. The album was recorded with one voice (Nik Kemmer) and one guitar (Yamaha Classical CG-150CCE). This is a simplistic recording, each song on just one live track. The recordings are crisp and clean, intended to make the listener feel like they are taking in a live performance. These acoustic sessions were recorded between fall 2011 and spring 2012. This Album is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and this site's store. You can also check out video recordings of some of his work on youtube.
  • SIT-IN-GUITARIST
Given a key,  GrooveTooth can play lead guitar fluidly in almost any genre. Given a chord sheet or practice time he is also very comfortable on rhythm guitar.
